The audio launch of Vinnaithaandi Varuvaaya took place in a star-studded function on Tuesday evening at Sathyam. In attendance apart from the cast and crew of the film were Sameera Reddy, Lizzy Priyadarshan, Reemma Sen, Sonia Agarwal, Jai, K S Ravikumar, director Vijay, Piaa and other guests from the industry. The event began with Gautham Menon introducing the major players including singers Chinmayi, Benny Dayal, Naresh Iyer, Karthik, Blaaze and Alphonse. Stephan (Piano), Alap (Base Guitar), Devan and Vijay Prasad accompanied themas they sang seven songs from the film. Three official Vinnaithaandi Varuvaaya trailers followed by songs and a video presentation of the Vinnaithaandi Varuvaaya music show held two weeks ago in London were also screened. Padma Shri Kamal Haasan and Academy Award winner A.R. Rahman released the audio CD of the film in the presence of director Gautham Menon, Simbu, Telugu actor Naga Chaithanya, producers Madhan, Ganesh, Kumar and Jayaram, Sony and lyricist Thamarai.
